About the project Together We Grow Montessori School is a new Montessori school in Vancouver, Canada, currently in its pre-opening construction phase. We are looking for a freelance video editor to help us create thoughtful, polished Instagram Reels as we document the school coming to life. We already have a complete brand system, raw vertical footage, architectural/design visualizations, scripts, shot lists, and detailed creative direction. We are looking for strong editing execution — not social media strategy. Style we are looking for Warm · Natural · Editorial · Thoughtful · Refined Think boutique hospitality, architecture, interior design, lifestyle, or premium education brands. We are not looking for highly animated TikTok-style editing, generic daycare advertising, heavy transitions, large animated captions, or viral-template editing. First project — Paid Test The first assignment will be one approximately 20-second Instagram Reel introducing our school and its construction-to-vision journey. We will provide: Raw vertical video footage Selected design visualizations Exact storyline and shot sequence On-screen copy Brand colours and visual direction Reel cover direction Detailed production brief We need the editor to provide: Video editing and pacing Basic colour grading Clean typography Simple, restrained transitions Appropriate licensed music Reel cover Final 1080 × 1920 MP4 At least 2 rounds of revisions No filming or account management is required. Budget US$100 fixed price for the paid test. We are open to reasonable proposals from candidates whose portfolios are an especially strong fit. Potential ongoing collaboration If the paid test is a good fit, we would like to continue working with the same editor on future construction updates, Montessori education content, school-opening content, and an ongoing “Growing Together” Reel series. When applying, please include: 2–3 examples of your work that best match the style described above Your editing software Your usual turnaround time for a 20–30 second Reel Whether 2 revision rounds are included Whether you can provide the editable project/source file Please do not send a large generic portfolio. We would rather see 2–3 highly relevant examples. Experience editing content for architecture, interiors, boutique hospitality, lifestyle, education, or other refined brands is a plus.
