Job Description
About Us We're an independent marketing strategy and branding studio specialising in the animal health and pet wellbeing space. We work with pet brands who want their marketing to be as thoughtful as the products they make, and we're looking for a creative junior to help bring that to life on social. The Role We're looking for a junior creator who loves making scroll-stopping social content - captions, graphics, and Reels - and wants to own that end-to-end for a handful of client accounts. This isn't a "manage a calendar and outsource the creative" role: you'll actually be the one designing the graphics, writing the captions, and editing the short-form video yourself. You won't be reliant on an internal design team - the creative is yours to make, from brief to finished post. For paid content, you'll work closely day-to-day with our Paid Ads Manager, who'll hand you briefs, examples, and ideas to turn into finished ad creative. Our Creative Director will give you overall direction and get you up to speed on each client's brand and audience. If you haven't done email design before but are keen to learn, that's something we're happy to train you up on over time. What You'll Do Create monthly social content for a handful of client accounts - copy, graphics, and short-form video (Reels) Write clear, on-brand captions for organic posts and Meta paid ad creative Design the graphics for both organic and paid social content, from brief to finished asset Edit basic short-form video and Reels/TikTok-style content for organic and paid use Adapt your tone, messaging, and visual style across a few different pet/animal health brands Work day-to-day with our Paid Ads Manager on paid content, turning their briefs and ideas into finished ad creative Manage your own content pipeline and deadlines, flagging early if anything's at risk Deliver within clearly scoped monthly hours and deliverables per client - we'll be upfront about what "done" looks like each month Pick up email design and copy over time, if that's something you want to grow into (full training provided) What We're Looking For Must-have: A portfolio or a few examples showing you can write, design, and edit short-form video yourself Confidence designing your own graphics for social posts, unassisted - not just filling in existing templates Basic short-form video/Reel editing skills - trimming, captions, music, simple transitions (e.g. CapCut, Canva Video, native platform editors); no motion graphics or advanced editing expected Punchy, engaging writing - you can adapt your voice across a few different brands A basic sense of how organic and paid social content differ Comfortable managing your own workload and deadlines with minimal oversight Reliable communication Interest in or experience with pet/animal health brands Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools Nice-to-have: Experience with Meta Ads Manager or paid social campaigns Any exposure to email marketing design or copywriting (not required - happy to train) What Success Looks Like Within the first month, you're independently producing a month of on-brand captions, graphics, and video from a brief, with minimal revisions needed. Within three months, you're a trusted part of the content pipeline, bringing your own ideas rather than just executing. Logistics Engagement type: Freelance/contract, ongoing Rate: AUD $3k–$4k per month, depending on experience Location: Australia-based preferred (understanding the local audience is a plus), but open to strong candidates elsewhere Tools you'll use: Canva (or similar), basic video editing tools, client brand guidelines How to Apply Please apply directly through this posting and include: A short note on your experience creating copy, design, and short-form video for social content (bonus if it's in a lifestyle, health, or wellbeing space) A portfolio or 2–3 examples of finished social posts (and a video/Reel example, if you have one) you've created yourself - organic and/or paid Your availability and rate expectations
