Job Description
We're a mortgage processing company in Massachusetts. Our audience is loan officers. We're building a steady stream of short vertical videos for Instagram and TikTok, and we're looking for one editor we can hand footage to every week and trust. What we're making: Talking-head reels, 30 to 90 seconds. One or two on-camera people, both company leaders, shot in our office. Content is industry explainers, tips for loan officers, behind the scenes, and client stories. We want it to look current and clean, not corporate and not gimmicky. Think sharp captions, tight cuts, a hook line at the top, and restraint. What you'll do: •Pick the best take from the footage we send (every take is slated so it's easy to sort). •Cut for pacing. Remove pauses, stumbles, and dead air. •Burn in captions in our brand fonts and colors. •Add the hook line we give you at the top of the frame. •Add background music you've chosen and licensed (see below). •Deliver a finished vertical file ready to post. We write the hook lines and the post captions. You edit. What we give you •Native vertical 4K footage (3840 x 2160 turned on its side), H.264, with clean wireless lav audio already on the camera track. •A brand kit: logo files, our brand color, our two fonts, and a short list of words and phrases we never use. •Footage via download links. You'll get an upload link for finished files. •One point of contact who answers the same day. Deliverable spec: •1080 x 1920, H.264 MP4. •Captions burned in. Keep captions and any key text out of the top and bottom zones where Instagram and TikTok put their buttons. •Music: for every reel, send the track name, the source URL, and proof the license covers commercial use by a business (your license page or the platform's terms). We're in a regulated industry and we keep records. A reel isn't complete, and the milestone isn't approved, until we have this. •Don't rearrange what's said in a way that changes the meaning. Cutting for pace is fine. Moving sentences around to say something different is not. How this works: •Fixed price, $60 per finished reel, including up to two rounds of revisions. We'll revisit the rate after the first ten. •First step is a paid test: four real reels from our current footage, $240, so we both see if this fits. •After that it's an ongoing contract with a milestone per batch of about 4-8 reels. •Volume to start is 8 to 15 reels a month. •Turnaround: 2 business days of receiving footage. If you're consistently faster, say so in your proposal. •We own all footage and finished work. You're welcome to show finished reels in your portfolio once we've posted them publicly. To apply: Send links to three vertical talking-head reels you edited that have burned-in captions. Tell us what software you cut in and your typical turnaround. Skip the cover letter template. If your samples are wedding highlights, product ads, or anything without captions, this probably isn't the fit.
