Short Description: We’re hiring Africa-based instructors to create short video tutorials for agricultural training. Each course will be 2–10 minutes long and include filming, editing, and publishing. This is a one-time fixed-price contract per instructor, covering your first course only. We’re looking for someone who can produce clear, engaging instructional content and deliver a polished final video ready for publication. Full Description: Agbata (agbata.org) is an online learning platform for agricultural education. Our audience is mostly Western hobbyists who want to learn how to grow their own food — home gardeners, allotment growers, and beginners, not commercial farmers. We're looking for Africa-based instructors, agronomists, extension officers, or experienced growers to create short video courses (2–10 minutes each) teaching practical, beginner-friendly growing skills — crop farming, soil health, pest control, irrigation, livestock basics, and more. This is a full, self-serve role: you'll film, edit, sign up for a free Agbata instructor account, and publish the finished video directly on the platform yourself. We'll provide simple instructions, but you're expected to handle the upload/posting step, not just hand over a video file. Filming location: No need for a large farm — a backyard plot, compound, garden, or even a few containers works perfectly, as long as it shows real, practical growing. No professional video experience needed — just real knowledge, clear communication, and a smartphone or basic camera. This is a paid pilot, currently limited to one course per instructor. The Agbata platform generally allows up to five course uploads per instructor, but this Upwork contract and its $50 payment cover your first published course only. Depending on how the pilot goes, we may invite strong creators back for paid follow-up rounds — but that isn't guaranteed at this stage. Note: Agbata is currently in beta — you may run into occasional bugs on the site during sign-up, upload, or publishing (layout quirks, etc.). We're actively fixing issues and appreciate patience. Earning potential: Beyond your guaranteed first-course payment, that course may sell on the platform — you keep 100% of course sales revenue during our beta period (after payment processing fees and any applicable taxes). A short preview of your course may also be shared on our YouTube channel and other social platforms to help drive sales. Footage requirement: All video footage must be real, human-filmed content — no AI-generated video or AI avatars. AI tools may be used to assist with research and scripting only. What You'll Do: - Choose or accept a course topic within your area of expertise - Write a short lesson outline/script (template provided) - Film a 2–10 minute video (talking-head, demonstration, or on-plot footage) — real footage only - Do basic editing (trim, clean audio, add simple captions/titles if possible) - Sign up for a free Agbata instructor account (if you don't already have one) - Upload and publish the finished video and course description directly on the Agbata platform Requirements: Based in Africa, with genuine practical or professional growing/agricultural knowledge Able to explain things simply for a beginner, hobbyist audience (not assuming commercial-farm scale or experience) Comfortable speaking on camera in clear English (other major African languages a plus — let us know which) Access to a smartphone or camera capable of decent video/audio quality Access to some kind of growing space — garden, plot, compound, containers, or small farm Able to self-edit (or partner with someone who can) — no need for professional software, just clean, watchable results Reliable internet for uploading files Please include: - A short note on your growing/agricultural background and what topics you could teach - A sample of any video you've filmed before (even informal — a phone clip is fine), or a link to your work - Which language(s) you'd film in $50 USD, paid once, for your first finished and published video (flat rate, fixed-price contract).
