Job Description
We are looking for a creative short-form video editor/ad creator to help us market a newly launched consumer TV application called NumberTV. NumberTV is an Android TV / Google TV app designed for YouTube TV users who miss the simplicity of traditional channel numbers. Instead of scrolling through a long guide to find a channel, NumberTV allows users with a compatible numeric remote to enter a familiar channel number and jump directly to a supported channel. For example: Enter 507 CNN Enter 504 CNBC The app also supports familiar TV controls such as Channel Up/Down, LAST, GUIDE and INFO. We have already developed and launched the product and have real working hardware and raw demonstration footage. We are software developers, not video/content creators, so we are looking for someone who can turn our real product footage into polished, engaging short-form content. What we will provide We can provide: - Raw video footage of NumberTV working on a real television - Footage of the physical NumberTV numeric remote - Screen/product demonstrations - NumberTV logo and branding - Google Play Store information/link - Additional footage if you tell us specifically what shots you need You do not need to create or animate a fake product demonstration. We want viewers to see the real product working. What we want created For this initial project, we'd like approximately 3 short-form video variations, preferably 15–30 seconds each, created primarily from the same source footage. Videos should be suitable for: - YouTube Shorts - Facebook Reels - Instagram Reels - Paid social advertising The videos should be vertical (9:16) and include professional editing, captions/text overlays, appropriate transitions/zooming, and a strong opening hook. A possible concept is: “Miss channel numbers on YouTube TV?” Show the frustration of navigating through channels, then demonstrate someone simply entering a number on the NumberTV remote and immediately opening the desired channel. The product should be understandable within the first few seconds. We are open to your creative ideas. We specifically want someone who understands direct-response advertising and short-form social content, rather than simply making a visually attractive corporate video. Target audience Primarily U.S. YouTube TV users who: - Use Android TV / Google TV - Miss traditional cable/satellite channel numbers - Prefer a physical numeric remote - Want a simpler/familiar way to navigate television This may particularly appeal to people accustomed to traditional cable or satellite TV interfaces. Important product disclosures The videos should not imply that NumberTV is affiliated with YouTube or YouTube TV. NumberTV currently: - Works on supported Android TV / Google TV devices - Requires the user to have their own YouTube TV subscription - Supports a curated set of channels; local affiliate channels are not currently included - Requires a compatible numeric remote for physical number-button functionality - Also has a companion phone remote application Deliverables For this first project we would like: - Approximately 3 polished short-form video variations - 9:16 vertical format - 1080p or better - Captions/text overlays - Music/audio where appropriate and legally usable for commercial advertising - Final exported videos ready for social media/advertising - Reasonable revisions - Source/project files if possible We would also appreciate recommendations for hooks, captions, hashtags, titles and calls-to-action. Bonus: If you also have experience running Meta Ads and/or Google/YouTube advertising campaigns for mobile apps or consumer technology products, please mention this. We may hire the same person for a separate small paid advertising test after the creatives are completed. Budget Fixed-price initial project: approximately $250 We are willing to consider somewhat higher proposals from candidates with a strong portfolio and relevant experience. This is an initial test project. If the content performs well, there is potential for ongoing work creating additional NumberTV content and advertising campaigns. When applying Please include: 1. 2–3 examples of short-form ads/Reels/Shorts you personally created. 2. Any experience marketing mobile apps, consumer electronics, streaming products or technology products. 3. Whether you have experience running Meta or YouTube/Google Ads. 4. Briefly tell us how you would make the NumberTV concept understandable in the first 3–5 seconds of a video. 5. Confirm whether the final videos and included music/assets will be licensed for commercial/paid-ad use. Please do not send a generic application. We are particularly interested in seeing examples of real products being demonstrated effectively in short-form video.
