Job Description
Initial budget: $600 for 4 videos Ongoing opportunities may be available depending on the success of the initial videos. Summary: We're building BounceBall ( , , ), a new sport similar to basketball that rewards ball-handling, agility, creativity, teamwork, and skill, while placing much less emphasis on height. We're hiring a creative, funny, basketball-savvy video producer to independently create entertaining short-form content for our social media channels (with some initial guidance and ideas provided) in order to promote this new sport. We are NOT looking for a marketing strategist who only provides ideas. We need someone who actually makes the videos. I have already produced simple videos (which are not particularly fun or entertaining) that explain the rules of BounceBall, and one has reached roughly 20,000 views (see here: Our goal is to create significantly more entertaining, shareable videos with the potential to reach substantially larger audiences. What is BounceBall? BounceBall is a sport similar to basketball, except it rewards ball handling, agility, creativity, and teamwork more, while placing less emphasis on height. In other words, it allows short, skilled players to be competitive, unlike in basketball. In basketball, a team of five 7' tall players who can barely dribble the ball would absolutely destroy a team of five 5'6" players who are extremely skilled and creative. BounceBall fixes this, along with numerous other problems with NBA basketball, such as: traveling, too many 3s, boring & repetitive gameplay, etc. BounceBall would allow more shorter but electrifying players like Allen Iverson to succeed, and would give more opportunities for players like Stephen Curry to show off their "bag" of ball handling skills in real games. In addition, there are hundreds of millions of potential athletes around the world who are automatically ineligible to play basketball because the minimum height requirement is basically 6'1", with the average height being roughly 6'7". In soccer, the world's most popular sport, there is no such height requirement. On the other hand, roughly 1/5 young American men who are 7' or taller play in the NBA, reflecting the fact that basketball clearly prioritizes height over ball handling skill. Furthermore, the NBA has been on a decline since the 90s, and many fans and players alike are not satisfied with modern NBA basketball. “Everybody is running the same plays.” “I think it makes the game boring.” —Shaquille O’Neal, NBA Legend “There's a lot of f***ing 3s being shot.” —LeBron James, NBA Superstar (When asked whether the modern NBA playstyle was boring) “Absolutely” Draymond Green — Four-time NBA Champion What you'll do: Independently create four funny, engaging BounceBall-related short-form videos (15–60 seconds, 9:16 aspect ratio) for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. All four videos must be fully produced, edited, and ready to publish. How you produce the videos is entirely up to you. You can film yourself, collaborate with influencers, work with your own production team, create original skits, produce basketball commentary or reaction videos, make memes, or use any combination of these approaches. We are primarily interested in the quality, entertainment value, and viral potential of the finished videos, not how they are produced. You will be responsible for independently managing the entire production process. This includes developing and executing creative concepts, writing scripts, recording voiceovers, performing reactions, filming, editing, and adding captions, graphics, music, and sound effects as needed. You will also be responsible for sourcing or creating all necessary footage, audio, graphics, and other materials while complying with applicable copyright and licensing requirements. If you choose to involve actors, influencers, or other collaborators, you will be responsible for coordinating their participation. Nobody from BounceBall Sports Group will need to attend filming or manage production. Content direction: We're particularly interested in basketball memes, comedy, satire, reactions to NBA basketball, and entertaining comparisons between traditional basketball and BounceBall. We want videos that would be entertaining even to someone who has never heard of BounceBall, while naturally introducing the sport, highlighting what makes it different, and giving viewers a reason to become interested. The videos should feel like genuinely entertaining social media content, not conventional advertisements. Budget and deliverables: The total budget is $600 for four completed videos (150 per video). This covers the full production process, including any collaborators, equipment, or other resources you choose to use. No additional expenses will be covered unless explicit
