On-Camera Presenter for a Licensed Digital Twin Avatar of Yourself, Remote

———— About this job ———— Hello! We’re TrueShort, a true crime streaming app on the App Store. We're hiring an on-camera presenter to record a few minutes of footage of themselves. That footage is used to create a licensed digital avatar of you (likely on HeyGen, a U.S. company). The avatar is only ever of you. You're paid, you sign a likeness agreement that spells out exactly how the avatar can and can't be used, and you record HeyGen's required on-camera consent statement with us. This is the same idea as a voice actor licensing their voice. Nobody is being imitated and no one else's likeness is involved. ———— What the avatar will do ———— It will present short news segments about criminal cases and court proceedings that have already been reported by established news outlets. Everything the avatar says goes through a rigorous, multi-step fact-checking process before it runs, so you never have to worry about your likeness being used to say something that isn't true. We don't cover politics, health, or historical events. ———— What you'll do ———— Record two continuous takes of yourself, roughly 2 minutes minutes each, one horizontal and one vertical, seated at a desk and framed from the waist up like a news anchor, following a short filming guide we'll send you. Read a short script we provide. One part is news style delivery, one part is conversational, and one part is simply looking at the camera and listening. Join a 15 minute video call with us to record HeyGen's consent statement at the time we upload your footage. Deliver the original camera files through Upwork. Total time is probably about 30 to 40 minutes. Remote, from your own space. ———— What we're looking for ———— Calm, steady, trustworthy on-camera presence. Think local news anchor, not influencer. Clear speaking voice, ideally fluent American English. Able to hold eye contact with the lens, keep still, and pause between sentences. A quiet space, even lighting, a plain background, and a camera or recent phone that records 1080p or better. Comfortable with your likeness being used as the on-screen presenter for a true crime news product. ———— Pay and license ———— Flat fee, paid on delivery. Please quote your exact price for: -a) a 1 year non-exclusive license and; b) a perpetual license to use the avatar for the uses described above. The likeness agreement includes a list of things we are not allowed to do with your likeness, including anything inappropriate, political, or presented as your personal opinion, and a right for you to request removal of any content that breaks those terms. ———— How to apply ———— -Please send a 30 second clip of yourself, ideally seated, framed waist up, looking into the lens, saying any two or three sentences in a calm news voice, with a one second pause and your lips closed between sentences. Our app is streaming true crime so if you could read out a news-style script about a true crime case, that would be GREAT! -If you can, please send something high-quality (4K or minimum 1080p) and with broadcast-style lighting if you have any extra production gear like that. Please also send several photos as well that show you in the most suitable look for this particular role. And if you have any links with videos of yourself doing this style of performance or that are relevant to this, please share as well. Please also add a line about your on-camera experience if you have any. ———— What this is not ———— This is not a deepfake and not an impersonation. The avatar is of the hired contractor only, created with their recorded consent under a signed agreement, and used to present fact-checked news about publicly reported cases. THANKS! -DJ
