Job Description

Videographer + editor for short-form talking-head videos (30 scripted reels, ad tech company) I'm the COO of Genius Monkey, a programmatic advertising company in Tempe, AZ. I'm starting a series of short conversational videos of myself for Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok, and I need someone to shoot and edit them. Think founder-style talking-head reels. One person, one idea, 60 to 90 seconds, hook in the first three seconds, captions on. Not corporate, not overproduced. I'm looking for the clean, direct feel you see from people like Phoenix Ha, not a polished brand video. What I already have All 30 scripts are written, with hooks, talking points, screen notes, and captions. You're not writing anything. About a third of the videos are "screen plus face," where I'm talking over a dashboard or report, so you'd need to composite a screen recording with the talking-head footage and blur client names. What I need from you Shoot: batch recording sessions [at our Tempe office / remote, I'll record myself and send raw footage]. I'd like to knock out six to eight videos per session, so roughly four sessions for the full 30. If you're local, bring a camera, lighting, and a mic. If remote, you'd coach me on setup and work from my footage. Edit: cut each video to length, add clean burned-in captions, on-screen text for the key numbers, simple lower-third with my name and title, and deliver in 9:16 for Reels/TikTok plus a 1:1 or 16:9 version for LinkedIn. Keep the style consistent across all 30. Light color and audio cleanup, no heavy effects or stock music. Deliverables per video: final vertical cut, LinkedIn cut, and a thumbnail frame. Raw and project files kept on your end for revisions. Skills Experience shooting and editing talking-head content for founders or B2B brands (send links, not a reel with drone shots). Captioning that actually looks good. Comfortable with screen recordings layered under talking-head. Premiere, CapCut, DaVinci, whatever you're fast in. Bonus if you've worked with marketing or tech companies and understand what a dashboard is. How I work I move fast and communicate directly. I'll give clear feedback the same day, and I'm not going to nitpick. I care that the hook lands and the captions are readable on a phone. Two rounds of revisions per video should be plenty. Budget and timeline [Per video or per batch rate, e.g. " 𝑋 𝑝 𝑒 𝑟 𝑓 𝑖 𝑛 𝑖 𝑠 ℎ 𝑒 𝑑 𝑣 𝑖 𝑑 𝑒 𝑜 " 𝑜 𝑟 " Xperfinishedvideo"or"X for the first batch of 8"]. Starting with the first batch of 6 to 8 videos as a trial. If it goes well, this is an ongoing thing: the remaining 22, then new batches every month or two. To apply, send two or three examples of short-form talking-head work you've edited and a one-line note on how you'd handle the screen-plus-face videos. Skip the generic cover letter.
