Job Description

Jesse (Jesus Every Step, Scripture Enrooted) is a new Christian mobile app available on iOS and Android. Jesse provides a safe, Scripture-centered place where people can ask questions about faith and everyday life and receive responses grounded in the Bible. Jesse is live and already has its first users and paid subscribers. I am now looking for an experienced, hands-on growth marketer who can help actively acquire additional paying subscribers. What I Need I am not looking for someone who will simply analyze the app, provide a marketing strategy, manage social-media posts, or give me a list of marketing tasks to perform myself. I am looking for someone who can execute subscriber-acquisition activities and take ownership of the work. Depending on your expertise, this may include: Developing and executing paid acquisition campaigns Identifying and targeting Christian audiences Creating or coordinating advertising creatives Testing messaging, audiences, offers and acquisition channels Influencer/UGC outreach Christian creator, church or ministry outreach App Store/Google Play optimization Using available Firebase and RevenueCat data to improve conversion Identifying and addressing barriers between download, trial and paid subscription The primary success metric is growth in paying subscribers, not followers, likes, impressions or downloads alone. 30-Day Pilot This project will begin as a 30-day fixed-price pilot. The purpose of the pilot is to determine whether we can establish a repeatable, cost-effective way to acquire paying Jesse subscribers. During the 30 days, I expect the selected marketer to actively execute growth activities, measure the results and adjust based on what is working. Analysis of the existing funnel is expected where useful, but analysis is not the primary deliverable. Subscriber acquisition and hands-on execution are. Any paid advertising budget will be separate from the project fee and must be approved by me before it is spent. If the pilot produces promising results and we work well together, there may be an opportunity to continue working together after the initial 30 days. Who I'm Looking For The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience acquiring paying users for consumer mobile apps, preferably subscription apps. Experience with some or all of the following is valuable: Mobile subscription-app growth iOS and Android user acquisition RevenueCat and/or Firebase Meta, TikTok, Google and Apple advertising App Store Optimization Influencer/UGC acquisition Christian or faith-based audiences Because Jesse is explicitly Christian and Scripture-centered, genuine understanding of and alignment with the Christian mission is important for this project. When Applying, Please Answer 1. Tell me about a mobile or subscription app where you personally helped acquire paying subscribers. What did you do and what measurable results did you achieve? 2. If you had 30 days to begin growing paid subscriptions for an early-stage Christian app like Jesse, what would you personally execute first? 3. What portions of the work would you personally handle rather than asking me to perform? 4. What experience do you have with RevenueCat, Firebase or similar mobile subscription analytics? 5. What advertising/test budget would you recommend for the first 30 days, separate from your project fee? Please explain how you would use it. 6. Jesse is a Christian, Scripture-centered product. Please briefly describe your connection to or experience with Christian audiences and why this particular project interests you. Please include examples of relevant work and measurable subscriber/customer acquisition results when possible. If your primary experience is growing social-media followers or engagement rather than acquiring paying customers or subscribers, this is probably not the right project.
